What is a MDS/VDS Decoder ref. 2409?

The MDS/VDS decoder is a device that carries out the conversion of the MDS system from the general input point to the VDS system in the interior blocks.

One MDS/VDS decoder is necessary per block.

The MDS/VDS decoder can manage 1 to 199 homes per block. From the general MDS input you can communicate with any tenant within the different blocks.

The MDS/VDS Decoder in addition to an interface between the two systems acts as an audio switcher, which when on standby (no communication with a general entrance or MDS guard unit) allows communication between interior VDS panels and the homes in the corresponding block. In this way it is possible to maintain simultaneous conversations in different blocks, each one with its interior panel, in addition to a general entrance block.

The decoder should be installed preferably where the interior block power source is installed, together with the video switcher where applicable. It is very important to use a power source for every interior block to avoid interference between the signals generated from one block (calls, call confirmation tones, etc).

Small, they are easy to install in electrical cabinets. They can be fitted inside a standard 10x10 cm box. They have adhesive strips for fastening, or can be screwed directly to the wall.
