What is the difference between SKYLINE frames in versions 2 and 3?
Starting next June 1, the new Skyline Version 3 frames will begin shipping.
Version 2 Skyline frames featured a microphone and cable integrated into the profile, used exclusively with 4+N and VDS technologies.
Version 3 Skyline frames, in series 2 through 10, come with a blind cover at the bottom and no longer include the microphone or cable found in Version 2.
For Skyline VDS and 4+N amplifiers, you must order the PVT09554 - CITYLINE CLOSING ACCESORIES SET separately, which contains the components needed to adapt the Skyline frame to non-DUOX amplifiers.
- Steps to follow when using the accessory set on Skyline frames:
- Install the microphone with its cable and protective fabric.
- Replace the lower blind end cap with an end cap featuring a hole to accommodate the microphone.
Alternatively, you can order the Skyline frame as a special plate using part number PVT07424 - GENERIC SPECIAL CITYLINE PANEL, specifying that you are requesting a Skyline Frame with microphone, in addition to the required frame series.
It doesn't affect the Skyline S1 Frame
