Registering MIFARE cards and key fobs in AC-MAX

In such cases, the credentials must be registered using one of the following options:

• Via a reader installed on-site, by reading the card or key fob directly.
• Using item 5204 – KEY3-USB desktop USB reader, which allows MIFARE identifiers to be registered directly via the AC-MAX software.

Conversion of the MIFARE identifier to AC-MAX format

Alternatively, the equivalent identifier can be obtained by downloading the following CONVERSION TABLE.

This tool allows the number printed on FERMAX MIFARE credentials to be converted to the corresponding decimal identifier used by AC-MAX, thereby avoiding the need to physically scan the credential.

Important: The conversion is only valid for FERMAX MIFARE cards compatible with the equivalence table provided by FERMAX.

Practical example

Let’s take a card as an example:

• Screen-printed text: FERMAX MIFARE
• Printed number: 0022054378

This number does not usually match the identifier that AC-MAX obtains when reading the chip. Therefore:

In short, a FERMAX MIFARE card can work perfectly well in an AC-MAX system, but it is usually necessary to physically read it or convert its number, whereas an ACX card already displays the identifier used by AC-MAX directly.
